People's Utility Justice Playbook & History

Energy activists are increasingly colliding with energy utility companies, whose interests are often in conflict with the economic and climate justice needs of communities. These companies are deeply invested in fossil fuels and have built entire systems around developing and delivering centralized energy at the cheapest costs and highest profits.

The Energy Democracy Project asked me to help design a handbook that exposes the tactics that large utility companies use to maintain power and shares how communities are able to fight back. I also designed a supplemental report outlining the timeline of events that brought us to our current predicament.
